What I believe...

I believe that Trenton is a great place to live. I also believe that the citizens of Trenton are entitled to know what is going on in their community, and how city government is conducted. I intend to write newspaper articles on a regular basis to keep people informed to what is happening in the city.

I believe that the people of Trenton want to live in a drug free environment. They also want to feel safe in their homes and know that their children are safe. I feel that our police department does a good job enforcing our laws, and I intend to continue to maintain an environment of safety for the people of Trenton.

I believe the city of Trenton needs a clean appearance to draw in economic and industrial opportunities. I intend to enforce our existing ordinances and work with the City Council to adopt ways to get our city looking like a place people would like to move to.

I believe that we must prepare Trenton for the future. Most of us agree that industrial opportunities are getting more scarce everyday. There are 18,000 muncipalities in this country competing for factories that are quickly moving to other countries. We must diligently try to entice industry into our city. We have great schools, a willing workforce, we are improving our water system and, hopefully with some encouragment from us and our neighboring cities, we can get our state government to finish the four lane highways that we were promised years ago. The city also needs entertainment options that right now we do not have. Our children need options that will keep them from going in the wrong directions. Most importantly, I believe we need to market Trenton any way we can to show people what a great place this is.

But I really believe that we must all unite together in order to put us on the road to being the city we expect Trenton to be. We must have a positive outlook towards the future and not believe it can’t be done; but know that what we set our minds to do, we can accomplish.
